Hosta ‘T Rex'

Hosta 'T-Rex' Asparagaceae

Not so much a Hosta as a small tectonic event. This colossal cultivar rapidly develops into a magnificent clump of huge, heavily corrugated, glaucous blue-green leaves that positively engulf anything planted too close. In midsummer, sturdy stems carry pale lavender flowers that are eagerly visited by bees. Best in fertile, moisture-retentive soil in part or full shade, where it will reign supreme for decades. If you only have room for one giant Hosta, make it this one ( or H. 'Empress Wu')
