Sneezeweed Asteraceae

A superb late-summer perennial for anyone who thinks the garden should become more colourful just as everything else is beginning to look tired. Helenium ‘Rauchtopas’, found by Uwe Peglow, produces masses of warm amber-yellow flowers with distinctive coppery-red undersides, surrounding a prominent brown cone.  Flowering from summer into autumn, it is particularly good planted among grasses, where its rich colouring looks positively incandescent in low autumn light. Give it full sun and fertile, moisture-retentive soil, and it will reward you handsomely. A plant with the good manners to arrive late, but make quite an entrance.

Height: 120–140cm
Spread: 50–60cm

Please note: depending on the time of year, some plants may be cut back before dispatch. This is normal horticultural practice and helps ensure plants arrive in good condition and establish strongly after planting.
