Galanthus nivalis ‘Wilhelm Bauer'
A distinctive Scharlockii-type Galanthus nivalis found by Rudi Bauer in the Eifel, Germany, and named in honour of his father, Wilhelm Bauer. The flowers are elongated, with the outer segments carrying a particularly attractive long, pale-green shading extending over their apical half. The inner segments bear a neat, green inverted V towards the tip. A handsome and rather understated virescent snowdrop, its colouring being more softly washed than boldly striped. An excellent example of how nivalis can produce forms with considerable individuality without losing the charm of the wild species.
