Galanthus ‘Walberswick Gemini'

A fascinating snowdrop selected for its unusual tendency to produce double scapes, with two flowering stems emerging from a single bulb. This can result in an especially generous display from an established clump, with pairs of flowers held together above the foliage. The individual flowers are neatly formed, with white outer segments and green-marked inner segments. A choice collector’s snowdrop, particularly interesting for its unusual flowering habit.

Origin: Selected in Walberswick, Suffolk, for its tendency to produce double scapes and subsequently named ‘Walberswick Gemini’. The selection is valued principally for this unusual characteristic, which can become more evident as bulbs mature and establish.

In the garden: A choice snowdrop for collectors and naturalistic winter planting. Allow bulbs to remain undisturbed so that mature clumps can develop and the double-scaped habit can be fully appreciated. Best grown in humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil beneath deciduous trees or shrubs.
