Galanthus ‘Tangfastic’

A particularly large and distinctive virescent snowdrop, ‘Tangfastic’ is all about green. The flowers are generously proportioned, with the white outer segments heavily overlaid and suffused with green, while the inner segments carry strong green markings. The effect is rather like someone has taken a perfectly respectable snowdrop and given it an unexpectedly enthusiastic lime-green makeover.

Origin: An Edulis selection raised from seed from ‘South Hayes’, selected for its particularly strong green colouring and handsome flower form.

In the garden: A choice collector’s snowdrop that deserves planting where its unusual green colouring can be examined at close quarters. Like most snowdrops, it prefers moisture-retentive, humus-rich soil and partial shade, and should be left undisturbed to build a good clump.
