Galanthus gracilis 'Ronald MacKenzie'
One of the great yellow snowdrops, and arguably Ronald Mackenzie’s finest introduction. A vigorous form of Galanthus gracilis with characteristic twisted foliage and beautifully proportioned white flowers carrying unusually rich yellow markings on the inner segments. The yellow is particularly strong and can develop into broad, well-defined markings, making it immediately recognisable in a collection. Selected by the celebrated Oxfordshire galanthophile Dr Ronald Mackenzie, it became one of the most sought-after yellow snowdrops and remains notoriously scarce in quantity. Mackenzie pioneered the commercial propagation of snowdrops and founded The Snowdrop Company in 1991, helping bring many rare cultivars to a much wider audience. A real piece of modern galanthophilia history—and a very handsome snowdrop in its own right.
