Galanthus ‘Plummet’

A rare and intriguing hybrid with an unusually long pedicel, giving the flowers the characteristic poised, dangling appearance associated with Galanthus ‘Chelsworth Magnet’. It is thought to be a seedling of ‘Chelsworth Magnet’, although the parentage has never been formally established.

Selected by Graham Gough at Laughton, Sussex, in 2006, this is a tall, elegant snowdrop with flowers held on notably long stems, allowing them to hang freely and display their markings to particularly good effect. A scarce cultivar, and one for the collector interested in the more unusual forms of the Galanthus hybrid complex.
