Galanthus plicatus 'Katherine James'

A charming Galanthus plicatus from Glen Chantry, introduced in 2017 and named for David Quinton’s wife and son, Katherine and James. A good example of the modern British snowdrop tradition in which plants are often preserved and passed between specialist growers before acquiring a name of their own. ‘Katherine James’ produces handsome, well-proportioned flowers above broad, pleated plicatus foliage, making it an attractive and reliable garden snowdrop. Its name commemorates two members of the Quinton family, giving this otherwise rather elegant plant a pleasingly personal history.
