Galanthus nivalis 'Olivia'
A distinctive late-flowering seedling of Galanthus nivalis ‘Arwen’, ‘Olivia’ was selected at Edulis Nursery from this particularly fine virescent parent. It retains the attractive green character of ‘Arwen’, but flowers noticeably later, extending the Galanthus nivalis season towards the end of winter and into early spring. The flowers have a fresh, green-marked appearance and, as with many virescent snowdrops, can develop their colouring with some seasonal variation. A useful addition to the nivalis collection, ‘Olivia’ combines the desirable character of its parent with a later flowering period — proving that there is always room for one more snowdrop, provided it is a good one.
