A delicate and rather charming inverse poculiform form of Galanthus nivalis, with the green markings carried onto the outer segments to give the flower an unusual skirt-like appearance — hence the name. The flowers are predominantly white but have distinct green-tipped outer segments, while the inner segments are similarly marked, producing a pleasing repetition of green throughout the flower. It is a relatively small snowdrop, but one with considerable character; the sort of plant that rewards close inspection rather than trying to dominate the border.

The name reflects its Istrian origin in Croatia, flowering in February and reaching around 10 cm.
