Galanthus nivalis ‘Arwen’ G008

A particularly choice green-marked seedling of the common snowdrop, ‘Arwen’ combines the neat proportions of Galanthus nivalis with a stronger and more distinctive green character. The flowers have a handsome, well-defined pattern and the plant has the charm of a good seedling selection rather than a manufactured cultivar.

Origin: An Edulis seedling of Galanthus nivalis ‘Nova Gorica’, selected for its distinctive character and maintained as G008.

In the garden: A choice collector’s snowdrop for humus-rich, moisture-retentive soil in partial shade. Like its parent, it is perfectly hardy and should be left undisturbed to build a good clump.
