Galanthus nivalis ‘Llo ‘n’ Green’

A charming and distinctive Galanthus nivalis found by Joe Sharman and Dr Alan Leslie in 1999, in the Gorge de Llo, near Mont-Louis in the French Pyrenees. A compact, rounded snowdrop with neat flowers carrying green markings on the outer segments, usually as five separate green lines, while the inner segments bear a strong green inverted V. The combination of its unusual markings, petite stature and French Pyrenean provenance makes it a particularly characterful form of G. nivalis. Subsequently introduced through Monksilver Nursery, it received a RHS Certificate of Preliminary Commendation in 2008, exhibited by Joe Sharman. A little piece of the Pyrenees that has settled very happily into British gardens.
