Galanthus elwesii var. elwesii 'Kyre Park'

A small and exceptionally early-flowering selection of the Turkish snowdrop, Galanthus elwesii var. elwesii ‘Kyre Park’ was found by Martin Rickard at Kyre Park, Worcestershire, in 1993, amongst seedlings of Galanthus elwesii. A particularly neat plant, it is distinguished by its solid green inner segments set against pure white outer segments, creating a beautifully crisp and graphic flower.

Despite its diminutive stature, ‘Kyre Park’ is remarkably early, flowering from December into January, making it one of the first snowdrops of the season. The combination of its compact habit, exceptionally early flowering and strongly contrasting flowers makes it an especially desirable selection for the specialist collection.
