A distinctive green-marked snowdrop introduced by Michael and Anne Broadhurst of Rainbow Farm Snowdrops, Suffolk. ‘Ivy Cottage Green Tips’ is a fine form of Galanthus elwesii, distinguished by green colouring extending onto the tips of the outer segments, sometimes forming a particularly strong green flush towards the apex. The flowers are well proportioned and carried above broad, glaucous foliage, giving this relatively compact snowdrop considerable presence. An attractive Suffolk introduction from the Broadhursts’ celebrated collection, and an excellent choice for those seeking unusual green-marked Galanthus. The cultivar name is correctly recorded as ‘Ivy Cottage Green Tips’, plural, following the Broadhursts’ usage.

Cultivation: Grow in humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil in partial shade or beneath deciduous trees. Avoid prolonged summer drought. Allow the foliage to mature and die back naturally after flowering.
