A distinctive late-flowering Galanthus plicatus, named for the green “teeth” formed by its sharply marked inner segments. The inner segments carry a clear apical green V, with a separate pair of much fainter green smudges towards the base. The markings are particularly attractive against the clean white ground, while the broad, blue-green foliage and well-shaped flowers give it the unmistakable character of plicatus.

Found in Sally Pasmore’s garden at Limington, Somerset, in 2000, and shown by Avon Bulbs at the RHS in 2001, bringing this distinctive seedling to wider attention. A useful late snowdrop, extending the season with a flower whose markings are considerably more subtle than its wonderfully toothy name suggests.
