Galanthus ‘Galadriel’

A splendid, tall-growing snowdrop from Beth Chatto’s woodland garden, raised as a chance seedling and named for Galadriel, Tolkien’s Lady of the Wood. An imposing plant, reaching around 25 cm, with broad grey-green leaves and large, rounded flowers held proudly above them. The inner segments carry a distinct green Y-shaped mark, giving the flowers a particularly clean and handsome appearance. A substantial snowdrop with real presence in the woodland garden, and an appropriately elvish name for a plant discovered in such surroundings.
