Galanthus plicatus ‘Eric Fisher'

A superb large-flowered Galanthus plicatus, found by Eric Fisher in John Morley’s garden at North Green, Suffolk, in 2010, and subsequently named by North Green Snowdrops. A particularly handsome selection, distinguished by its broad, glaucous-green foliage and exceptionally substantial flowers. 

What makes ‘Eric Fisher’ especially desirable is its tendency, once established, to produce the spectacular 4 × 4 flower form, with four generous outer segments surrounding four inner segments. The inner segments carry a strong, bold green marking, giving the flowers considerable presence. The broad, long leaves complement the large flowers beautifully, making this an impressive snowdrop both as an individual plant and in a mature clump. 

The 4 × 4 character is not necessarily present on every flower when young, but becomes increasingly evident as the bulbs establish. A particularly rewarding cultivar for collectors who appreciate large, substantial plicatus with unusual floral architecture.
