Galanthus ‘Bumblebee’

A particularly handsome single-marked, inverse-poculiform Galanthus plicatus raised by Joe Sharman at Monksilver Nursery, Cambridge. The flowers are notably rounded, with a wonderfully heavy green marking on the outer segments — apparently the feature that inspired the name. The inner segments are solidly green, making the whole flower unusually dark and striking. 

One of the more distinctive plicatus selections: the combination of rounded flowers and exceptionally strong outer-segment marking gives it plenty of presence without needing any horticultural hyperbole.
