Corydalis flexuosa 'China Blue'

Blue Fumitory Fumariaceae

A little blue beauty with considerably more attitude than its size might suggest. Corydalis ‘China Blue’ produces clouds of exquisite, intensely blue, slipper-shaped flowers above finely divided, fern-like foliage, bringing an almost tropical flash of colour to the spring garden. It is particularly effective tucked among rocks, beneath deciduous shrubs or allowed to weave through other woodland plants. Flowering is generous and, in the right conditions, it can gently self-sow to create more of these desirable blue gems — which is precisely the sort of behaviour we encourage. Give it a cool, humus-rich soil with some shade and let it get on with being fabulous.
