Begonia grandis subsp. sinensis 'Snowpop'

A snow-white flower with considerably more pop than its demure appearance might suggest. ‘Snowpop’ is a particularly elegant hardy begonia, producing handsome, crinkled green leaves with prominent red veining and an abundance of nodding pure-white flowers from late summer into autumn. A form of the Chinese Begonia grandis subsp. sinensis, it was selected and named by Nick Macer at PanGlobal Plants in West England. Compact and particularly useful for brightening shady borders, it also produces numerous bulbils in the leaf axils. Despite its delicate appearance, it is surprisingly tough — though a sheltered, humus-rich position will always be appreciated.
