The nursery was originally set up to supply the landscape design arm of the business with species and varieties that were proving difficult to obtain easily in the local wholesale nursery trade. Our original aim was to offer a good number of edible ornamental plants that were difficult to obtain elsewhere. As the numbers grew and the size of the nursery with it, Edulis increased it s range to include architectural plants, as well as grasses and bamboos. The number of species offered has increased dramatically. The nursery now boasts some 600 individual species and varieties.

A number of plants have been raised from seed from New Zealand, Chile, and Crete. Many are still under trial and may be offered in the future.

Crete is well represented due to Paul Barney¹s regular visits to Crete to give guided walks through the mountains and gorges. He has been going regularly for over 5 years now and knows the terrain well. His walks are offered as part of the holidays offered by Yoga Plus in Agios Pavlos www.yogaplus.co.uk
